Ralph’s ‘A’ Team
Ralph Reed is loaded for bear, says NYT (emphasis added):
In addition to endorsements from former Senator Zell Miller, a Democrat who has aligned himself with the conservative Christian movement, and Rudolph W. Giuliani, a presidential hopeful eager to improve his connections to religious conservatives, Mr. Reed claims to have 6,000 volunteers on the ground, including more than 70 home-schooled children from 10 states.
I hope he mentions it in speeches: “My opponent has not even revealed how many home-schooled children volunteer for him! Fellow Georgians, this is an outrage!”

I was going to say, “Wow, I can’t believe Reed is still in politics at all, after his connection to the multifaceted Abramoff scandal!” I was going to say that, until I clicked on the link and found that not only did the NYT raise that point, they did so in the headline. Nice reporting, NYT!
So instead I’ll just say that in Minnesota, the candidates for governor and lieutenant governor run as a single ticket, just like the candidates for president and vice-president. The article implies that Georgians vote to elect a lt. governor, and that seems backward, if not actually retarded.
Also, Ralph Reed is a huge prick, and I hope his political career joins those of Pats Buchanan and Robertson in the shameful valley of shattered expectations.
